JohnH - I recall u did some extensive legwork to locate Rod and I think found his son on FB.
When I met Ian Paice in 2007, he said Rod was struggling with alcholism from a mutual friend that keeps in touch with both Ian and Rod. Do u know if Rod has cleaned up?

I have no inside info or personal contact with Rod. I also have a half sister and brother and have been able to track them down as well. I've been called several times a detective , I enjoy solving these mysteries but I haven't even bothered contacting my own missing relatives either- just don't want to bother people. My dad had them early 60s before he met my mom, then was forced to give up all contact for not paying the bills , then never saw them again. They are both in Texas, im in Los Angeles, no Rod down here or I'd try to get a pic of him. Funny enough my dad's brother lives about 30 minutes from Rod! There's no ph or email for Rod either , I'd have to go bang on his door, which I would never do- no thanks! ( You could get shot for trespassing ! )
By the way , I'm sure when he lost his respiratory license in the 90s it was because of alcohol, this is the action taken in calif. A girl I was with all of once I've occasionally looked up and have been saddened to see her lose her RN license thanks to repeated DWI . offenses. Sad. Rod is still in Nor Ca.

Rod should be proud of his Purple legacy. He did a great job on those first 3 albums and the song Hush is played numerous times on the radio daily.
