Re: Jon Lord : 1941 - 2012 All of us today have lost some one very special to us. The impact his music had on us will be treasured for all time. God bless you Jon for all you have given all of us. I will be listning to you duel Blackmore tonight as I lay my head down. You were a gentelman and a world class musican.
Re: Jon Lord : 1941 - 2012 I immediately had to put on som vintage Purple when the sad news that Jon Lord has left us struck me. I chose Come Taste The Band. And I play it on repeat. That's a thing with albums. A mans life cannot be played on repeat. All that's left is what he leave behind him.
Jon Lord will be remembered in the best of ways, and for a very long time, due to the pure quality and great volume of his work.
Below everyting else, but not to be forgotten nevertheless, Jon Lord (Keys1) was the most distuingished poster ever to visit this board, with updates, news, and by occasion to demystify rumours from his career. A very nice guesture towards the many fans who's dedicated to his music.
Have a nice trip to the next world, Jon! Your music will live in this one for a very long time!

Re: Jon Lord : 1941 - 2012 Such terrible news....I'm devastated, sad is not enough.
Such a big loss...
Im glad you blessed us with your music, praise the Lord.
You will be loved forever.
Your music will live on.
My thoughts to all family.
Re: Jon Lord : 1941 - 2012 I haven't posted in here in about 3 years but I couldn't let the day go without saying a huge thank you to Jon for giving me enormous musical pleasure for 4 decades.
I don't know about anyone else but I honestly feel like I've lost an old friend/member of the family. Jon's been a huge part of my life as a musician.
I can't really give any fitting tributes here, no words could ever come close.
I'm completely shell shocked by this news.
Sleep well dear sir! Farewell Jon!

Re: Jon Lord : 1941 - 2012 Today is probably one of the worst days of my life.
I've been honored to meet one of the most gentleman ever lived twice, and it's been something I've been telling people even before his sickness. What a fine gentleman he was.
His music means a lot to me, and I'm a huge fan of his music. He's influenced me a lot.
However, what makes me cry for the last couple of hours is his personality, rather than his music.
Re: Jon Lord : 1941 - 2012 Jon Lord introduced me to to rock music. Years later, he re-introduced me to classical music. He taught me that music isn't something you have to put into labelled boxes, music is just music and you're allowed to love all of it. Over his long career he played rock, he played classical, he played jazz and blues and folk and even the odd pop hit, and when you find all those different types of music mixed randomly on my shelves today then it's probably due in large part to Jon Lord.
I have over 60 CDs of his music. I have seen him 29 times in concert. 12 years ago I flew to Sweden (the first time I had ever left the country), because it was the only opportunity I would have to see him play that year. Tonight I am exchanging messages with friends around the world, with people I know because we have travelled together following his music. I don't think I'm exaggerating if I say Jon Lord's music changed my life.
And when I have been lucky enough to speak to him, he has been the kindest, most gracious "star" I have ever known. Nobody else has ever written to me just to say "thank you for the kind review".
