Of the two of us clever enough to miss them, at least you remembered they played it!

emoticon Wish I'd gone to see them in hindsight though.

I saw them at the Edinburgh Playhouse on that tour Big J and left the show completely devastated i thought i had witnessed the end of my favourite band JLT should NEVER i repeat NEVER have been allowed to set foot on stage as DPs lead singer he murdered everything and his mincing stage persona had me ready to vomit that aside the band played well enough though Ritchie was very subdued but it was good to hear Burn live.Thank goodness for the TBRO tour where my faith was restored emoticon

I rather fancy JLT as the next lead singer of Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. emoticon

You are getting thinks out of proportion here. He didnt murdered everything. He did a great job on his own material, and besides CIT he was good in most shows. He sure is better than Coverdale.

JLT is a talented singer without doubt but NOT for DP he had neither the voice nor the stage persona to carry the job IMHO.Better than Coverdale? at what?? certainly not singing!!You reckon he did a great job on his own material? not in my opinion he generally squealed and squawked and minced his way through the whole set! i will concede he did a slightly better job with the MK2 material than DC, Davids voice certainly didnt fit Gillans material well at all but he was absolutely bloody awesome at his own material, it makes me wonder if youve even heard DC sing Burn or Mistreated in his prime to come out with the statement that JLT was better????????????????????I find that an ubelievable statement i think your allowing your dislike of Whitesnake to cloud your judgement on the great talent that DC had

Waoaw I've never heard a Rainbow version of Burn ! emoticon

I liked that they used it for the S&M tour, it was quite a blast!
I witnessed that one, and then some versions by Hughes, most of them butchered...

I think Burn is a better opener than HS, which I've always prefered as an encore (except in their prime).

Rainbow did some fantastic performances of Burn. Greg Smith took the Hughes vocal lines.

I was going to reply earlier and say that BCC seem to be nailing it on this tour, but then I saw them live tonight and Burn suffered the same treatment it usually gets on GH solo tours. The sound engineers set 'phasers to stun' and there is no definition between the instruments. A shame, because the rest of the gig was fairly good sound-wise.

Re: Burn live

Schenker was great - on top form, and an excellent set list. Into The Arena, Armed and Ready, Rock You Like A Hurricane, Another Piece of Meat, Rock Bottom (with Pete Way on bass), Doctor Doctor (Pete Way and Chris Glenn on bass!) + two new songs, first of which was ok (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead), the second was excellent. Can't remember the name of the second one, but it sounded to me like the best thing he's done in years.
