That's the program I'm speaking of also. But like I said, it's been 30 years now, though I still think that Purple's (nearly) entire set was aired. Ah, well, we'll probably never know...
ABC ran a series of four TV shows of highlights from the California Jam. The first show provided an overview of the day with a track by each of the eight bands. Purple were represented by a nine-minute edit of "Space Truckin'".
The second show included footage of Purple's arrival, together with "Burn", "Might Just Take Your Life", "Smoke On The Water" and "You Fool No One", most of which were edited, plus Sabbath tracks.

Though I probably didn't realize the tracks were edited when I saw the concert on tv - except for "Space Truckin'", which I knew at the time was still being used as a "solo" vehicle for Blackmore + Lord, so should've been longer - I was pretty certain I had seen the rest of the tracks you mentioned, Nigel. I gotta admit, my memory seems to include "Mistreated" too, but like I've been saying it's a 30 year old memory so the chances are at least equal that the memories are flawed.
Still, thanks for reassuring me - somewhat - that I haven't completely succumbed to "Mad Horse disease" I was positive that more than 3 tracks were aired.

Re: CalJam question....
Nigel obviously didn't have to see the airing cause he has the proper sources and he's right.
I thank you Nigel for concurring about the arrival footage cause I vivdly remember seeing it.
They seemed like god's to me at the time of arrival,
but something seemd different about them.
I'm sure it was the fact that I didn't even know the band memebers names back then but I seem to remember feeling
like a couple of them were imposters or something, cause of the new faces,my brother got out the MH and Burn album's and quickly cleared up the line up change for me.
