Good stuff!
The catchy musical phrase is there alright, in the vocal melody. But she's singing it in another tempo, so it's not recognizable as Smoke-soundalike.
Now, what if RB heard it and speeded it up a bit. Ooh, I love the conspiracy theories this could lead to :-)

People, this music, Maria Moita, was composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim (Girl of ipanema) in 1962. Machine Head was released 10 years after that.
