Re: Yesterday's show - any news regarding setlist?
Maybe he was just sick with something that night? It sure looked that way. Here's HS from Monterrey the night after. Pretty much back to normal again:

Re: Yesterday's show - any news regarding setlist?
It better, yes. Good..!
But he is still hanging on to his micstand for the entire song (HS). And in Smoke he still is singing some of the lines in a lower melody.
But its a big difference from the two nights before. Its easy to hear the band is more 'on' also..

Re: Yesterday's show - any news regarding setlist?
I don't mind the occasional lower melody line - he still sounds like Gillan. And where other bands are downtuning (WS etc) I believe DP keep doing the songs in the same keys. It sounds that way at least.
When he sings "I'm a Highway Staaaar" in this clip you can tell it still works. The power is still there (by "modern" standards) and the voice cuts through, so all is OK

Perfect Strangers is now played in slightly lower key too...

Please dont forget that Dio (rated as singer with one of greatest voices till the end) and Sabbaths with him played everything in lower key than on original albums....

Yes two steps down there as well! When did that happen?
Edit: After 2009! They did it in the original key in 09..

Re: Yesterday's show - any news regarding setlist?
SOTW version from Mexico.... I'm sure it's like it was the last the last time they were there. Gillan was clearly sick back then, he even posted a video about it, and I'm sure it's the same issue appearing here. I refuse to believe that he can't sing a simple song as SOTW. Let's give him a few days and see what happens. The last time he came back and delivered some great performances.
