No, they read it and go :"oh my, we made a mistake. Blackers should be number 1, and we totally forgot about Tommy Bolin! !@#$, we have to to it all over!"

I really doubt they do read this kind of stuff - those of us who spend our precious money are simply dismissed as 'fans' (the implication being that we cannot be objective or consider any music without prejudice) - just think of the guy who thought JLT was the Pavarotti of Rock! Power trip or what?
At the end of the day, I'd much rather be 'unfashionable' and get a kick from real rock than be a dedicated follower of fashion and praise whatever the lastest craze happens to be.

Re: Another 100 Greatest Guitarists List
Joan Jett
Wow, this is great. The first one that I have ever seen Buck Dharma on too. I am also suprised that they had Abbath of Immortal and Jon Schafer of Iced Earth on the list. Also, it is rather suprising to see Iommi ranked over Page in a serious guitar list. I believe that Guitar.com's top 100 of the millenium had all four Deep Purple guitarists on it.
On the note about Vai being ranked over Blackmore, Vai seems out of place where he is on the top ten when you look at who is there.
P.S. They must know the truth about Metallica, it was Dave Mustaine's work that made that band.

Re: Another 100 Greatest Guitarists List
Why take any polls seriously? If they don't rank Blackmore we say that polls mean very little. Well, they still mean very little, even if they do rank Blackmore!
And Jimmy Page wasn't the 'guitar genius' to start using a violin bow for his axe. I think that was Eddie Philips from The Creation.
Still, it was quite refreshing not to have Jimi, Eric and Jeff in the top 3!

Re: Another 100 Greatest Guitarists List
Page definitely wasn't the first guy to use a cello bow on his guitar in a rock act. I'll have to check, but I think it's even writen about in the revised/updated "Hammer of the Gods" whom it was that either Page or an aquaintence had seen doing it first thus inspiring Page...

Re: Another 100 Greatest Guitarists List
Another stupid list that doesn't cut the cake in my book.
While I agree that its about time RB was near the top, cause thats where he belongs how the hell can Ace blow Hard Frehley be considered in the top 10. In addition I did not see Steve Morse, Chet Atkins, Johhny Winter, Jeff Healey, Allan Collins, Andy Powell, Ian Moore, Buddy Guy (right?), Tommy Bolin, and others on the list. And what the !@#$ is Buck Dharma doing at the bottom of the list. Dharma IMHO is one of the most under-rated guitarists of all time.
Nice to see Dick Dale on the list. At least somebody remembers.
