There he is again, spamming same old same old. Sad if you have only one thing in your life to keep you going. Another feeble attempt to give his competitor some "bad review" google hits. Yawn.

Some time ago, I decided to get myself on the waiting list for the Analogman Bi-Comprossor pedal. At some point, the list was a year long, now they say it's months.

The pedal's name is not a typo (Comprossor instead of compressor, which the pedal is), as it combines two famous compressor pedal, the Ross (get it?) Compressor [thought to be an improved version of DynaComp) and Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer. Analogman has these in separate boxes as well, and there's a "mini" version of the Bi-Comp as well, but I decided to go for the top model.

Looks very good, is it expensive ?

You should check out the Sobbat pedals, much favoured by amongst others Richie Kotzen, who get a fabulous sound from them and his Cornford rig. There's a guitarist who is worth looking at, excellent player, excellent singer and essentially a very simple setup, which can be replicated with a little effort and some cash.

Gatts888: Just to keep things factual, you may choose to think either Dawk or Steve Renton are "competitors", but I certianly don't, in any shape or form. Dawk may have a business running I've no idea. Steve operates from his house as a hobby, without business insurance, I know this because he told a friend of mine. On that basis, I don't think I'll lose much sleep over them or much money to them, so it's perhaps of interest to you but to me, it's of no interest.

As per Stratobastard, if you don't like what I post............err, you are not actually obliged to reply at all...........it's not mandatory, nor actually necessary.........you actually can just ignore it.........especially if it upsets you so much...... and you read things into it that aren't there.........I'll happily reciprocate and ignore your posts in return...........MORE LATER as the saying goes!

It's $275 plus shipping.

Not cheap but one can be sure of the quality.

Thanks for the Sobbat tip!

Lol. Then why do you devote so much time to them, if they weren't? Just look at how many % of your posts here (and on other forums I'm sure) contain rants against your competitors. It comes across you have no other obsession in life but them.

I knew you just couldn't resist the temptation to respond, you see I think it's YOU and not ME who has the obsessional problem, YOU have to obsess about my postings and reply to them. That's not a rant at all, what a load of utter twaddle, it's just a few facts, sorry but that's how it is. If you want to read a defamatory rant, without any factual content, here's a classic example. He's a brave man Mr Renton, as you can see. I should mention, of course the topic has been heavily edited to scale it back, perhaps not as brave as they were!!

Mr Renton Rants

Have a read, I'm sure you will have something to say, then perhaps after that you can...............take my advice............and stop obsessing about my posts...............get a life and...........just ignore them............I'll do likewise.................MORE LATER!

ps this LOL thing, would I be right in thinking you might be a spotty teenager, or are you just trying to "get down with the kids" ROFLMAO

Price isn't too bad at all for what claims to be a hand-made device ? I think the Sobbat gear is perhaps a bit more expensive but I'd need to check again. Be very interesting to hear how your new pedal goes.

I awaiting delivery of the new Roland GK55 Guitar systh for my collection. Due to arrive in early March as understand. I have all the other Roland sysnths, GR50,GR33,GR09, GR01,GR20 etc so I'm interested to have this one. It claims to be a mixture of the BOSS ME pedal series with the GR20 on board, so a mixture of synth/ COSM modelling pedal. Personally I could happily live without the COSM stuff, as I've never found the ME70 or it's derivatives very interesting, but I'll wait and see. The pre-launch revies seem interesting, althouhg they always big this stuff up, even though it's maybe sh1te!! I think this means the VG99 may be due to get the push, tho they may keep it running like they did with the VG88/VG8 series. It's all GK pickup powered this gear, so it gives you an additional pickup on the guitar, so I guess arguably, the synth/COSM sounds can be routes to one amp, with the normal guitar going to the normal rig. That's how I've always run the other synths, too blend the sounds gives a great result.

Well seems you can't get over your "need" to reply to my every posting, that's unfortunate don't you think. Perhaps you ought to turn your questions inward and ask what sort of "man" calls himself "Stratobastard" and tells us he "pisses his pants" ?

Seems like that's actually you really!

Once again...............I realise it's very difficult for you.............but perhaps.......... you really would have a happier time, a better life.............if you just ignored my ALL postings.........and resisted your incredibly strong urge to always have to have something to say in response in anything I post...........however mindless your comments may be..........Just ignore my postings, it's easy if you try..........afterall you claim not to liker them, so why respond ...........and I'll happily do the same............ and totally ignore your postings without a moments hesitation...................MORE LATER.( PMPL )

Re: Useful Stuff

Looking forward hearing your impressions with the synth, MIJF!

I had a Boss ME-50 for a few years. Bought it for a cover band I was in. Some of the COSM sounds were quite usable, but I found two basic problems with it, understandable as they were: 1. the volume of the factory presets altered far too much to be changed on a fly, or even during a rehersal, let alone a gig. 2. The modulation effects controls (too) needed to be changed quite a bit if you went from one effect to another. The net result was I only used one distortion / overdrive setting (I think it was called "natural overdrive"), and bits of chorus and phase (you had to be really careful with both control-wise, otherwise they sounded really awful). The wah was decent, as was the harmonizer/octaver (the synth-style, booming lows were actually quite great). Eventually, I only used the device for tuning up and as a volume pedal. Sold the device some years back, it just ate too much of the sparkle out of the clean signal. You could tell by the volume boost when you took it off and plugged the guitar straight into an amp. So it was only really usable when you used the effects.

Sometimes I miss I'd kept it, as you could get some really unusual, freaky sounds out of it.

There's no question one can find useful sounds out of those COSM things, as one can from Line6 Pods, but going from one setting / effect to another needs tinkering or "programming" your own presets. I never went there, as I always set controls at the soundcheck, to the acoustics of the venue.

As for reviews, I know what you mean. Fpr example, ProGuitarShop's YouTube demos are excellent, but as they sell the gear they review, you don't find any criticism in them.
