DP 60s-70s live recordings that rival MIJ?
Are there any? Thought it would be interesting to hear your choices, regardless of lineup. Let's list them here (bootlegs as well as official releases).

Re: DP 60s-70s live recordings that rival MIJ?
As great as MIJ is, I've thought since ca 1988 that Stocholm 1970, first released as Scandinavian Nights, then later as Live in Stockholm 1970, is even better.
Rivaling recordings? Depends on the mood. Sometimes I just cannot bear listening to bootlegs, sometimes they sound superior to the official ones.

If I listen to anything other than MIJ, it's the Scandinavian Nights (nowadays Stockholm '70) one.
The rest pretty much just collect dust.

Re: DP 60s-70s live recordings that rival MIJ?
Well, it depends on what you call "rival". I think that there are many other recordings which are very intersting from a historical point of view, documenting the development of the band. Starting with Amsterdam and Montreux 1969, ending with Osaka 1973 (if you restrict it to Mk II).
I find In Concert 1972 very interesting because of the rare songs (Maybe I'm A Leo, Never Before) and because you hear that the songs are quite young and haven't developed on stage for a long time.
But if you focus the music without such historical aspects, MIJ can hardly be rivaled by something else.

Not a huge fan of Scandinavian Nights. However, I think the In Concert 70/72 album is very good. As good as MIJ? Maybe not, but certain offers different viewpoints of the band in that era. And for the longer songs, I think the In Concert '70 versions are better than the Scandinavian Nights versions.
Let's face it though, MIJ is tough to beat.

In Concert 70/72 is very, very good with Never before and Maybe I'm a leo showcased.
Made in Europe is another great live experience.Don't care if it's tapered with.
Cal Jam is maybe infamous but still great with fantastic versions of Lay down, Stay down and Mistreated.
Maybe Lay down, Stay down is only on the dvd.

Agreed. I'm surprised that so many people dislike this. Yes, it's horribly produced, but musically I think it's great. Of course Ritchie had lost interest in the band, but he delivers an excellent performance though. And Ian Paice's drumming in Mk III was always world class.

Oh yes, I even like the production. And even if some of the songs are spliced from different concerts, it's still a fantastic live album.

Did you know that Swedish rock band Europe picked their name from the album title..?
Joey Tempest said that members of the band listened to MIE endlessly while forming Europe.
