Nothing wrong with melodic rock (if done tastefully).
Indeed. Blackers has been doing it since '79.
I'm a relative newcomer to Morse Purple. Having once dismissed them (after hearing Purpendicular), I have now acquired many boots and have changed my opinion. However (and at the risk of ruffling a few feathers), from my listening so far I think Steve's sound is relatively indistinct. Maybe it just hasn't hooked me yet. That said, I think he does a great job .

That "beating a dead horse" reference and graphic kinda creeped me out Brian! Want to watch that stuff in the future, please?
I'm soooooo sorry Mr. Ed. How insensitive of me (a relative of yours is it?), but if you leave your enormous droppings in my driveway again while nicking my Magic 8 Ball, it may be you next time. At least it's not a white horse..of course.
Yeah, and that damn 8Ball still isn't doing me any good! By the way, Brian...thanks for switching to dead ladybugs - everyone they're better off dead, anyway!
