I wonder why some people feel the need to say things like "my ears are still ringing" as if loud automatically equates to good. It's quite possible to come out of a terrible gig with your ears ringing. Commenting on the volume is not relevant to how good they were and doesn't anything to the review.

It's not relevant to how good they were but it is an important thing to put in a review. If I'm reading a review of a band I have never seen live, it's good to know that I might need to take earplugs.

I can tell you that my left ear was hurting badly during the show in Antwerp, and weither the concert was good or not, it ruined part of it and it was simply unplaisant!

I think it's kind of "cool" to say:" yeah it was loud, my ears were hurting (meaning "It was loud, but I'm a big boy and I like to hurt"...
