Re: Oslo, Norway, Nov 22nd
I was at work the day of the Valle Hovin gig. I was 18 and pissed I couldn't go. Well, I've got the bootleg DVD of the gig now, so it seems I didn't miss out on their best gig Did go to see them in '93, and that is a gig I still think about almost on a daily basis. Great MKII gig, and yes- I have the bootleg DVD!

Re: Oslo, Norway, Nov 22nd
I've spoken to a couple of guys who was there in 87, and even though they are not Deep Purple fans in particular, they say it's perhaps the best rock concert they ever been to. May have been a reason they picked two songs from this gig for the "Nobody's Perfect" album (even if that isn't exactly their best...).
My first turn was the 93 show, which I thought and still think was absolutely great - even if the chemistry between the singer and the banjist obviously wasn't the best - or not present at all one might say.
I remember at one point Gillan looked almost a bit embarrased (obviously because of the ongoing non-communication between them) - then I raised my arm and showed him a big thumbs up from first row. He saw me and nodded back to me with a smile. That was a good moment. One to remember.

Re: Oslo, Norway, Nov 22nd
The show in Stockholm the day after was spectacular too, perhaps the best dP gig I ever saw. At least as good as the '96 Karlshamn (sweden rock festival) gig, where Steve Morse was fenomenal and the crowd exstatic. Totally sold out and people were crushed and bones broken...

Can't wait to see if they're still busy breaking legs!
