Re: Live in Germany CD

Listening to this right now: a solid set...but checking the sleeve notes I wonder...who is J.A. Linquito?? According to this booklet he co-wrote With Ritchie and Joe Death Alley Driver, Power, Street of dreams, Can't let you go, Jealous lover, Stone Cold.
Mmmm...what's going on here? Anybody has an idea?

Linquito is Joe's real last name, he just Americanized it to Joe Lynn Turner.

Still I wonder...What's the point in releasing so many solo albums if you're mostly gonna put songs on a Live album from your previous bands?
I would have loved a double cd with half solo songs and half dP/ rainbow stuff.

Indeed!

There are so many frustration in this area.

Why they did not release Live in cardiff 83 for instance.
Why is there no OTR cd/dvd?!

Really? I didn't know that!

I would have picked a name like... Rambo (which is, incidentally, a "Finnish" name!).

The name he picked does sound a little feminine; like a female country singer lol I can kind of see the lineage in coming up with the "Lynn Turner" from "Linquito" but if he wanted to use the "Turner" he would've had to put something in front of it so as not to be confused on paper with Big Joe Turner (the blues guitarist) or Joe Turner (the jazz singer).

Interesting!

Big Joe Turner, though, is (was?) a singer not a guitarist. Love his voice.

EDIT: Googled him to find out if he was alive. Well, according to Wiki, he died in 1985. There's a slight misrepresentation in the discography btw, the album he did in the early 1980s was with the great Roomful of Blues. My introduction to him.

Ah, the Rescue You album. Have to give that a spin one day!

Was it you or who here who told how JLT said when that album was mentioned, "oh, it was you who bought it"!

Haha, yeah, that was me emoticon

He was in town with DP at a Detroit "version" of a Hard Rock Cafe at the time. I had Jon sign Made In Japan, Roger signed 24 Karat Purple, Ian signed Burn and I handed Rescue You to Joe and he goes "so you're the one who bought it!". I then reminded him of the instore signing he did with Wingwang where he made a little kid cry; Joe goes "you'll have to narrow that down!".

I asked him if he knew where Ritchie was and he said playing soccer up the street against the radio station so me and my friends sped up the street and he signed my SBTE tour program.
