I have both the original album on vinyl and the remixed CD with bonus tracks and I have always thought that overall the original release is much better. "Makin' Time" looses so much of its direct forcefulness in the remix (plus where's the bass solo!?). Also, different vocal tracks are used which are not quite up to the vocal takes used on the LP, imo. And top top it off, Paice's drums are much lower in the mix on the CD, which is a shame because his playing is incredible in so many places during these sessions.
