Coronarias Redig
OK -anyone know what "Coronarias Redig" actually means? Is it a latin phrase, or just something made up on the spot at a drunken jam session? It's been bugging me for years!
Over to you, people -any suggestions welcome.

Re: Coronarias Redig
Redig is a swedish word meaning ready or it could mean "a handy man"...

Re: Coronarias Redig
I don't know if you were involved in this discussion but here is a possible answer.
Herky = Kerem?

Re: Coronarias Redig
I think this has been discussed here one or twice in the past, Herky!
And I don't think we ever got a really good or definitive answer...the closest I believe we got was from some info that was in the booklet that came with the remastered edition of "Burn" - "[The band] Unable to come up with a title, engineer Freddy Hanssen helped out with the word 'skidefuld' (meaning 'pissed') leading to a working title of "Drunk at The Revolution"....the recording was later released as a 'b'-side [to a single] under the title of 'Coronarias Redig'" - from the booklet to the remastered edition of " Burn" by Nigel Young.
I just wished the name of whomever came up with the title & what the hell the title means - if anything! - was in there!

May be he can explain more in his native language.

Re: Coronarias Redig
Don't know what it means, but it's one great piece of guitar work! One of the best instrumentals, if not the best (next to weiss heim), RB has ever done. Guitar work is stunning for the times, and show's RB could (if he wanted to), be up there with the best in fusion/funky/rock instrumental guitar.
AN UNDERRATED GEM!

Maybe he can explain more in his native language.
I saw that possible answer, Ingrid, and it's one I myself have thought about through the years...'coronarias' certainly does carry somewhat of a possible connection to 'coronary' or something similar...I used to think maybe it was some sort of way of saying 'restarting the heart' or something like that. Another possibility I've contemplated was that perhaps it was something to do with royalty...I mean, in a historical sense, the color Purple was usually associated with the 'upper' echelons of society, being considered a 'royal' or 'priviliged' color generally recerved for the 'well-to-do'; 'coronarias' always seemed to echo 'coronation' to me...maybe it was MkIII's way of instrumenatally saying that the new line-up was assuming/inheriting the throne of rock royalty that DPMkII had previously occupied (just a theory!).
