Perks and Tit
Anybody to recommend that purchase? Is the final show of the US tour 1974 in San Diego worth buying after Live in London and California Jam?

Re: Perks and Tit
If you are a collector, go for it. Otherwise I can't see the point. YFNO is missing (only lord's intro is there), for me THE live track of mkIII, and ST is missing. The sound quality isn't very good either.
If you are a Blackmore fan, the intro to Mistreated is probably the best on that tour. Good soloing in LDSD too (but not better than in LIL 74).
So if you don't fall into ´´Big RB fan/ DP collector``, I would say avoid it, unless you can get it at a good price.

Re: Perks and Tit
The single most interesting thing about the recording is how completely lost RB gets during Burn. It's hilarious!
Yeah, I do recommend it.

Musically, I'd have to say that Cal Jam was better, but it certainly has it's place in a die-hard fans collection.
Me? I had no choice. I was AT that show, so I HAD to get it.

Re: Perks and Tit
This live performance is a lot more aggressive than California Jam. However, it does have a boot leg quality to the performance that even a remaster could not fix. Lord's organ isn't audible during Burn, so you hear more of Blackmore, which was fine with me. Very intense. Mistreated is also excellent, with a nice intro from Blackmore, and then great echo to Davids voice in that concert hall. It made a nice effect, probably one of the best Mistreated I've heard.

Re: Perks and Tit
Good recording. Great "Mistreated". It seems to me that Ritchie's guitar keeps going out of tune during "Burn".

It's out of tune, but he completely loses the song structure during his solo as well. The end result is, well, interesting!

I guess that it can be bought only to hear the Master in difficulty...
