Not as good as MKII, but I really like it. I just wish Don would get a solo in ST.

Depends on what MKII you are referring to...

MKIIa was the best incarnation of the band ever!

MKIIb...well, the eighties weren't a good decade for hard rock soundwise. The organ and guitarsound sucked big time, and the band were heading in all directions.

I think that the current line up is better than MKIIb. They are much more structured and to the point, and are one hell of a live band.

MKIIc were almost as good as MKIIa. The Battle Tour was a highlight in Purples history. The current line up misses some of the jamming and danger element, but they're not far behind.

All in all, I think the current line up is one of the best- ever!

I pretty much agree. I just wish they would give Don one long extended jam. He certainly has the skills. (Maybe do "Hard Lovin Man". That would also be a good show closer) emoticon

Like someone would "buy" this release and not comment on the excellent bonus disc performance... or at least the great production values of the main disc... oh yeah, we're talking about someone who obviously didn't "buy" it, but rather downloaded it in it's relatively poor quality, therefore has no idea what he missed on the bonus disc.
The main disc is of for average fans, the bonus disc is for those who expect a little more for their supportive dollar.
Support = purchase. I reccomend this release for just that, and will honor any comments that come from that nature, and screw the rest.
