Re: Best MK III live
1. Made in Europe
2. Live in London (*)
3. Live in Paris
4. Live at the California Jam
5. Perks and Tit
(*) I ordered the new version last week, and am thrilled to hear how it sounds. I have a Japanese cd of this and it sounds great; however, if they've managed to beef it up like they did on the Paris '75 set, it might threaten MIE's position at the top.

Re: Best MK III live
I'm sure you will, friends have also listen to Live in London they say best sound in many
years,"You Fool No One" is my new number one,
don't understand "Made in Europe" on the top
the album was edited, the applause is a tape
loop in some places, okay like the album back
in 1976 today we have listen to Live in Paris
and The Final Concerts. The Made in Europe
cover remember, I think it was a silver version of Made in Japan when I saw it first
time.

Re: Best MK III live
I don't care it's edited, or if the applause is not from those particular shows. I used to care stuff like that, but (again, just like as a kid when I first heard that LP) now I just enjoy a good piece of music.
The sound, inc. the mix on the record is superb, as is the track listing, which really sets it apart from other Mk3 live albums.
For comparision, Final Concerts is much more 'honest' than MIE, yet it is duller and has a dire sound to it compared to Birch's masterful work.
I've got a Japanese LP replica CD of MIE, and while Paris '75 sounds stronger and clearer, I still like the old Birch mix a lot.

Dear Rezi "Made in Europe" (cass./lp and cd)
Have now listen to most of it and I can tell
you i'm also big fan of Martin, but is not
god idea to make tape loops, find also
another little thing in the book" Deep Purple
Discography " from DPAS 1982, only one guitar
solo comes from The Paris concert, I will
follow you a little bit sounds great but....
my top list is still the same

Thanks God, Mr Birch used a tape loop of the audience and not one with Glenn´s funky screams of that period.
And as the album title "Made in EUROPE" suggests: it is a compilation of various shows recorded in Europe. Personnally I don´t care where the Blackmore solos where taken from as long as it is Blackmore at his prime. MIE is probably one of the most underrated DP live albums issued - I like it quite a lot and have fond memories when it came out and I used to practise the opening bars of Burn on guitar much to my neighbours delight.

Re: Best MK III live
I just got the new LiL edition and while I love it, it does lack the power of the 1975 stuff, namely MIE and LiP 1975.
