John, it's worth getting the DVD, even if you have a recording of the 69 Concerto already, just for your hero's (Jon Lord's) commentary track emoticon

the more i listen to the concerto the more i like it emoticon
for me the 2 ians steal the show. i just love gillan's voice throughout the performance. in one word : wow. emoticon

The best piece on the concerto is when blackers pulls of one of his wonderfull solo's and keeps on going. Jon Lord later stated that RB only had a couple of bars for this particular solo but he didn't stop. At that point you see Lord thinking:'what the f**k is blackers doing?!" And of course Malcolm Arnold - who wasn't aware of RB reputation- stood on his pedestool, looking at RB, with a horrified face and I guess his thoughts at that time were something like:'Oh my goodness, this young man is going to destroy the whole piece!!' LOL!
