Hey B3 I've had the 69 concerto since atleast 1990.
That baby cost a pretty penny on vhs back then,
I suggest since you never had to view that version,
to just enjoy your copy of the dvd.

I'd much rather look like a young hippy than an old one.
It doesen't mean he has lost the attitude,it's still there
in his stage presence and his overall approach.
Hair dye is for women anyway. emoticon

As if Purple were ever admired for their fashion sence. emoticon

It´s acutally better than in the recent years now. But it in no way beats his performance on the CHOHW DVD(and there he even was in a very bad mood!).

CHOHW still had nothing on 69 to 73 for ominous visuall
prowess.

That was the 60's everyone was wearing funny clothes back then.

I got the 99 version, not the 69 version of concerto.

'69 has some ferocious work by Blackmore on that big old (and ugly!) Gibson.

What pisses me off is that on most of Blackmores' solos, were looking at Roger Glover or Jon Lord...great camera work emoticon...

As I stated, I enjoy looking at the faces/ expressions... in the beginning, you see some doubt on some of the members of the orchestra faces...but then you see the members smiling and tapping their feet along Blackmores solos....

Blackmore is great... he had no where to run off to, so he played guitar...and played....and played.
Gillans lyrics on the fly are sung beautifully....

Jon Lord pulled it off.

I suggest to those who dont own a DVD-
BUY ONE!

Theyre as low as $30 now!

I'll post a new topic concerning DVDs now emoticon

A couple of weeks ago, I bought the Concerto DVD'69 from an independent music shop in Cambridge for 5.99GBP only.... What a bargain!!! emoticon
I think it is fantastic! I love Jon's comentary! For me Gillan's voice is just amazing, so deep and powerful, probably the best I've ever heard him on a live recording!!!

Cheers Gendo
