Thank God!!! Another one coming soon!!!
I can't believe what I just saw at the "Deep Purple Upcoming New Releases", it's a new studio album from Deep Purple in 2005!!!
The Dude is just happy, it's cool man!!! Purple new album is the only thing that excites me, new releases from other bands does NOT excites me as much as Purple release did, just like HOBL, ABANDON and BANANAS, I have no idea when the other album was release, how can I get excited? I have no idea about S&M, TBRO and PURPENDICULAR, I just saw these albums on the store and bought it.
Here is what I'm hoping for the new upcoming Purple album:
STYLE - Hard Rock & Heavy Blues!
SONGS - just one or two ballads and rest are hard rock and heavy blues! Hopefully no instrumentals.
PRODUCER - Daniel Lanois, Kevin Shirley or Mike Bradford is still fine with me!
MUSICIANS - Gillan, Paice, Airey, Glover, and hopefully a new guitarist!
FORMAT - a "double" CD containing 24 or more tracks!
ANTICIPATION - I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep rockin' Dudes!!!

Just because they announce it doesn't mean it will happen.
(I've learned my lesson)

Re: Thank God!!! Another one coming soon!!!
"hopefully a new guitarist"where did that one come from.I certainly hope not after all the band is just fine where they are at this moment in time.I understand that they will be in the studio in february for the release of another monumental album towards the end of 05.I am sure that band does not need another upheaval of members at this stage of their lives and it is totally not necessary.
This band is "rocking their socks off" at this moment in time, and we lucky brits still have our bit to come after all the warm-up dates that they have performed over the last year or so.
Then a well earned break for the xmas period and back into full slog again,i do not think that people take into account just how hard these guys work at their craft and realise that there aren't any easy options taken by this band, they work their socks off.
Also have you noticed how many reviews from the current tour(they work so hard it is difficult to know when one tour ends and a new one starts) state that the band are having so much fun at this moment in time.I am sure that Don has a big part to play in that(not to suggest for one moment that Jon did not contribute to the fun element)but let's be honest it is a hell of a post to get and i am sure that it has helped to raise the standards and that the next album will i feel reflect this.
So a new guitarist is not what is needed, this band needs to have their well earned xmas break and then to get into the studio to take advantage of the enthusiasm and drive that has been apparent on this leg of the never ending tour, and i think that all Purple fans should look forward to another milestone in an already overflowing list of Purle treasures.
Just think how lucky we are to have so many good things to look forward to from such a band of hard working individuals as it can't go on forever at this Paice (pun intended)

Re: Thank God!!! Another one coming soon!!!
I have a strong feeling Randy is wanting a "rock guitarist" instead of a so called "country guitarist"...

Funny... I always though of Morse as all-round not country. I have some masterfully done jazz-fusion by the guy. 'Runaway Train' is quite country-ish. That's true.

Re: Thank God!!! Another one coming soon!!!
...I'm not the one who thinks he's all that country...that would be someone else.
...and "Runaway Train" is hardcore bluegrass 100%,totally awesome guitar work...but not country.
Some of the best picking I've ever heard

Re: Thank God!!! Another one coming soon!!!
some female background singers on the rockers could be brilliant and "Satch" as special guest on two or three songs would also be cool. I hope they have different ideas and it´s a more jazzy way and less pop commercial AOR - they know what they are doing I´m sure. Michael did a fine job - but on "contact lost" it´s a shame that you can´t hear the guitar clear because it´s on a too high level (very poor).
