Re: Coverdale vs. Hughes, then and now.
Coverdale screams far too much these days, although he has such a fine low key voice(one of the best actually).
Still it always puts a smile on my face when I hear him howling in the intro of Bad Boys!
"ow owowow OOOuuuuww"

Re: Coverdale vs. Hughes, then and now.
Gillan seems to be screaming addicted. You see that he doesn´t attempt on intention, but it just seems to come autmatically. In Nürnberg it happen on occasion, but he´s scream on Lazy wasn´t really funny!
Darn it, I want to see Hughes screaming live!

Okay, but you don´t catch colds because of screaming. Rather from walking around nude in cold scandinavian winter landscapes!

Re: Coverdale vs. Hughes, then and now.
Oh Gillan...I thought for a second there was evidence of a link between membership of Deep Purple and nudist tendancies.

You also need to do more listeng on a whole,
to hear the beauty in Gillan's voice and his use of emotion.
He can often fool the listener into thinking he is just wailing.
I've noticed that IG gets any protection and excuses this forums world has to offer, for the other singers it seems to be rather difficult. That's ok for me,'cause I know IG W A S unmatched at his peak.Regarding "beauty of his voice" = LATO anyone ?
I have a few memories, like watching the reunion with my dad.He turnt to me with a surprised look on his face and said:"So why did they choose this singer? That David Coverdale would suit a band like DP much better".
Me:"Well,you know..."
Or lending CTTB to a boss of mine (DP fan,48 y.old) to record it.After getting that one back,I asked him:"So was it ok. for you"?
Reply:"Yes - because of the VOICE "!
And so on...
