Re: Set list for February gigs
Actually I suppose that "proper" tour will have 14 songs with 90 - 100 mins showtime. I guess these are just warm-up dates to get into touring setting again.
Also - US dates are usually cut shorter.

Not true about US dates. Last time I saw them for Infinite they played nearly 2 hr set.
Maybe they are breaking things in after being 2 years off, they missed a couple of cues, but IG is definitely low energy. Can't see him finishing tour - hope I am wrong...Plus facts are facts Ian is approaching late 70s. RG on other hand had a lot of energy.

Looks like the shortened sets are here to stay then.
IG did look a little frail in the Crime documentary I thought. Age catch up with everyone but it just seems quite a deep and sudden cut to the setlist length, but perhaps it has been hard to come back from a two-year enforced break.
They also have quite a few back-to-back nights scheduled, I would have thought they would have given that up by now and added 1-2 night breaks between every show. Oh well, what do I know. Great to see another Whoosh song in the set last night though.
Yes Throw my bones was good to hear. Crowd liked it!! Was hoping to hear some other songs but it didn't happen.

Re: Set list for February gigs
I wasn't at one of the concerts but I watched everything I could find and I have to say that my impression is that Gillan is in good shape both vocally AND physically.
Compared to videos from 2018 and 2019 he looks better, sounds better and moves around quite a bit more now.
So I don't really understand why he shouldn't be able to finish the tour.

Re: Set list for February gigs
Ian Gillan is 76 years old?!
I think he is 56 years old. I believed he and the band will do 3 or 4 more studio albums and support each album with tours.

Yes, from a far that certainly seems to be the case. On reflection DP have done a number of co-headliner tours, eg Alice Cooper. You'd expect these co-headliner set-lists to be a bit shorter.

I would not say he is vocally better than in 18 and 19... He is actually "warming up" - in IG case it´s always like that - after longer gap (and this one was very long), he needs few performances to get into "touring" mode. IMO first show sounded a bit better than 2nd one. I know its a bit too much analytical, but after such a long hiatus, I´m a bit "starving for Purple news" - I considered it interesting that during first show IG sang "I´m the echo of your past" (which he didnt sing for years or maybe even decades and actually I´m so used to his "concert lyrics version" that at first moment I thought he did a mistake... ) verse perfectly (it seems like listened to Purple catalog before going on tour) and on second show - automatic memory got into conflict with intention to sing that verse so he ended up with something like "shadow of another past"

Re: Set list for February gigs
I in fact did notice Ian singing the "right version" of the PS lyrics as well. It should also be mentioned that he had learned the lyrics for "Nothing At All" before the gig

Re: Set list for February gigs
they're out of the game for the moment:
three of the members have been tested positive for covid, so the rest of the cruise shows have been cancelled...
