Re: Oh Well

Once again.... our opinions cant be further from each other.

I love Oh Well and actually I knew the original, but I never considered it "classic" or "jewel" of rock history. Just normal rock song - I like DP version much better. And by the way - Gillan is FANTASTIC in Oh Well!!!

Re: Oh Well

Radio 2 have yet to put any of the new tracks on their playlist and in the past they have made the new albums record of the week. It will be interesting if they back the new album because I think radio 2 backing has meant higher chart/sales in the UK.
All in all the album is a bit of fun and not selling out ... rock and roll cruises ...that is another matter.

Im lost for words emoticon

Dull version of a true classic, totally ruined by old Widdly Morse totally soulless and predictable guitar licks emoticon

video is kinda fun though

Check out the Rockets version from years ago. Great band, made up of former Mitch Ryder members and other Detroit players. They played various venues around the Great Lakes/Mid-West region. Got to see them in Toledo and Detroit. Always a good time. Dave Gilbert, the lead singer, passed away much too young.

Now I really like that great vocal and tasteful guitar work thanks for the heads up JSA1 emoticon

Re: Oh Well

I liked it.
For the record, I've enjoyed 3 out of 4 new tracks.
"Roadrunner" was pretty weak for dP standards...it can stay in Japan. emoticon

First listen of "Oh Well" was Oh Well, a bit of a missed opportunity. BUT, after watching the video a couple of times their version has grown on me, whether its a skip whilst listening to the CD is yet to be decided.

Update. "Oh Well" won'[t be skipped but plenty of others will be...
