LLRNR

Am I the only one on this site that doesn't like this album? I recently put it on during my workout and I still find it boring. The first 2 Rainbow albums plus DTE are my favorite Rainbow albums but I still find LLRNR boring. Many rate GOB as one of RB's best songs. I sure don't. To me, the best song is "Kill the King" but I first heard it on the Live album and that version beats this version. Call me stupid if you like. emoticon emoticon

I won't call you stupid but for sure it's a strange opinion to have about it. I'd agree it's not a perfect masterpiece but the highlights are some of the best moments in the whole of Ritchie's career, I think. But then what do I know.

I think its a very good but not great album its a drop from Rising but then what isn't ??
There are no tracks that i don't like, but KTK suffers when compared to the live version and Rainbow Eyes is nice but gets a bit dare i say boring, due to being overly long IMHO.
GOB is an absolute all time Blackmore classic

If there wouldn't have been Rising, much more people would love it. Comparisons can destroy a lot. For me, Gates Of Babylon alone was worth making it.

Ok, what‘s the main difference to the other early albums? There are almost no keyboards present, no Hammond solos, ... The compositions are quite ok, I think. But the title track is maybe the first trial to land a true hit. Didn‘t like the song. Stargazer was erased from the setlist to play this shoeshine boogie.

I thinks its a great album! Not as good as Rising but still has some great songs on it! One of my favorite albums.
