Re: Rapture of the Deep: 15th Anniversary

I already bought Rapture Of The Deep twice, when it was first released, and again to have the bonus tracks.
I'll gladly buy it a third time to get remix/remastered version.

There's high standards for a DP album opener, Money Talks is up to par, though not a true classic. Girls Like That is a bit of fun, not amazing but stands the test of time surprisingly well (so far). Wrong Man is wonderful, dark and heavy. And then comes two masterpieces, title track and CQA.
Don't Let Go and Back To Back is two more enjoyable, good tracks. Kiss Tomorrow has wonderful drumming, Junkyard blues some great soloing. Before Time Began is, in retrospect, the first sign of what has become the outstanding Ezrin-era.

MTV was worth buying the album over again.

Sound quality is perhaps not brilliant, but overall it suits the music pretty good. I would/will buy a remix though, as mentioned.

I trust Roger gives his best with the masters, I look forward to my third perchase!

So there's a vinyl colored reissue of Rapture coming out in march, that claims to be "remixed". Anybody knows if this is the one that Roger mentioned? I'd guess that Ezrin is involved as well and that it should also come out on cd as well, so I'm a bit suspicious.

Is that the white colored vinyl?

I think so.

Re:

At the time I was doing a hard rock show on an Italian radio station with a friend, and we managed to get invited to do an interview with Gillan and Glover when they came to Italy to promote the release of the album - somewhere I have a DAT with almost an hour of interview, one day I will try to dig it out and convert it.
Anyway, I distinctly remember three things: the fact that they were funny and interesting to interview, the clipping on some of the tracks of the advance copy of the album I was given a couple of days before the interview (and I was hoping that was just a rough mix) and Gillan at some point mentioning that he was planning to sing for another decade...in my mind, I thought he was way too optimistic. Realizing it’s already the 15th anniversary, I am pleasantly surprised that I was totally wrong.

It has two bonus tracks "Things I Never Said" and "The Well Dressed Guitar", the cover is a darker version of the original.

Is it confirmed to be remixed by Ezrin or Glover?

I'm certainly not the biggest fan of this album, but I've got one question: Will there be a remix on CD (!) as well?

I have no clue. I wish the record label will tell us more.

I think if it was the Glover/Ezrin remix they would have it a bit more visible. I fear it's just a simple reprint just on colored vinyl.
