Think the new stage looks absolutely brilliant! Thinks it's a lot better than current Purple's stage-production.

Re:
Just watched Solder Of Fortune. It's wonderful. Perhaps it was a mistake that I didn't fly to London, but that's my problem.

Re: Last Concert in London
BOC were not bad. Played well but perhaps too much more 'recent' material for the casual fan. Crowd seemed to like them.

Re: Last Concert in London
A superb day, hard rock heaven...... stages all over, beer tents, record stalls, Jerry Bloom doing good business with his range of books and box sets. Even a comedy event upstairs at the all bar one!
Of the bands, Arthur Brown excellent – what a voice at the age of 75! The Answer dull, BOC we didn’t see as Indigo full by this point, no matter on the Orange amp stage, Evans and Black from Wales were fantastic!
Now moving into the arena, the only curtaining off was in parts of the very top tiers. Jerry Ewing from Planet Rock introduced Sweet, a set chock full of hits, well performed. Not a bad support slot in the end.
The usual intro tape started, but instead of the orchestral version of LOHAG, we had the newly recorded version, unsurprisingly perhaps.
The set that followed was a total triumph in my view, and highly enjoyable. Ronnie smashing it as per last year, stupendous vocals. The band indeed ratched up a few gears, revitalised even, Bob looked more like a rock bass player. DK was superb, heavy as ‘eck with his new double bass drum, I didn’t even notice the Rainbow wasn’t there until afterwards, with all the memorabilia, video footage etc, it wasn’t really missed. Ritchie played great, it’s still the same style as last year, but more fluent, need to listen back but there were many fine solos.
The setlist pretty satisfying all in all, BN and LL the only low points. All night long for me a surprise indeed, and well done, especially the drumming, exactly duplicating the original LP version.
After BN faded out, I was totally taken aback with Catch the Rainbow in the encore, could never have predicted that! Smoke closed out of course, maybe due to a curfew there were no bows, just quick waves and off.
Pheewww.....! Can’t wait for Glasgow on Sunday!

Cool thanks!! Recent material - their last studio album was 2002
How did Dharma sound?
I heard they did their first album all the way through.

Re:
I did get into the indigo and caught half hour of BOC. Looked like to me they were filming it as they had a swing boom camera to the left of stage. I couldn't handle anymore. Not my thing. Only to be super seeded by the good awful evil blizzard. All those knocking Ritchie should've seen that pile of crap.
4 bass players dressed in horror outfits with a drummer droning over a din!
I think that disrespected some pretty good bands on the orange stage.
Discovery of the day for me were Aussie female band Tequila Mockingbird. Aussies Massive did a storming set. I caught the last couple of songs of massive wagons who seemed to go down well.
But my highlight of the day were Scots Gun. I was curious to catch them. Their 40 minutes seem to fly by. I was surprised how much of their stuff I knew.
I caught most if Arthur Brown and he was amusing.
I've already commented my thoughts on sweet elsewhere and I thought Rainbow were generally terrific. Only dips for me were all night long and sadly for me my fave burn. Not quite the edge it had in Birmingham for me.
In all a bit of a mixed bag of a day but glad I decided to make a day of it.
