Why Scandinavian dates? Just curious

Hi CG. I won't be able to make it on the first European leg, and not too keen on seeing Alice Cooper and a shortened set-list on the US tour. It also gives me an excuse to take another trip across the pond. Always wanted to visit that part of the world in winter/late fall time with long nights, so it could be fun emoticon

Re: Deep Purple setlist for this year

From HTP through to Don Airey keyborad solo are as good as can be expected for DP 2017. If we accept that SOTW has to be played, then only ST is a poor choice in my opinion.
My issue is the encore, still Hush and BN. Come on, so many great songs and the encore remains unchanged for so many years now.

If you come from the north east like the New England area you will feel like home both in weather and surroundings. And mentality too, I guess. emoticon

2. On that note, Highway Star is a favorite, Gillan can still sing it well (IMO), and the keyboard and guitar solos are signature DP, so I think it needs to stay.

No matter how much i enjoy the current line up of Deep Purple i can't agree emoticon It's the song that in later years Ian Gillan has struggled more. Not matter how they try it, it's quite painful to listen to Highway Star live nowadays, i think it should have followed the same path Child in Time did.

I totally agree with Johnny. Listening to Gillan attempt HS is painful, especially the high parts where he frightens my dog into hiding under the table.

When I play HS (Mark Morse) I have to take my dog for a walk. It's a hunting dog, if I don't go he'll fly into the curtains.
He has very sensitive ears.
