Re: Rate the marks!
Milan,
I didn't have time to read all the threads properly but I know Mr Ed likes Mk 6. This could be the missing one

What criteria Milan used to form his list of exclusions, I've no idea...
1. I know you "hate" JLT not just "don´t like much" but "hate".
2. You excluded Mark III yourself
3. You have no good opinion about Bolin and Come Taste The Band as I know from reading your posts
4. I don´t think anyone but a few die-hard Satriani fans would name Mark VI as their favourite.
So it either has to be Mark VIII or Mark VII...
On the other hand you could have voted for Mark IV or V just for the sake of beeing nasty!
1) Not "hate"...despise and or revile. I have far too much dignity, class + good breeding to merely "hate".
2) That's semi-correct...MicStand guessed MkIII. He was incorrect. I think all that I excluded was MkII(a,b+c) + MkI, as I they were two of my picks.
3) Pretty close, and a logical conclusion for the purposes of this "guessing game". You gotta admit though, even just over the past two years my opinion of Bolin's work with MkIV + MkIV overall has tempered a great deal. It was admittedly a far different story back in '75/6, and for quite a while thereafter, though.
4) Why so? Perhaps you've not heard any examples of the work the group did in concert, heard the better examples or question the legitimacy of MkVI? Those aren't accusations - they're questions concerning how you reached the conclusion that "anyone but a few die hard Satriani fans would name MkVI as their favorite". I'll just say that I, for one, didn't name MkVI as my "favorite"...keep in mind we were all asked to pick our "favorite 3 Mks" of Deep Purple...

The Battle, Flying In A Purple Dream, Emptiness, Eagles And Snow, Some Kind Of Purple...enough to know how he was?
I don´t question the legitamcy of MarkVI but I don´t see why anyone would take that on year touring line-up about any other of the line-ups that delivered classy new songs, however I´d go for that now definitly but I can´t as I originally had only one guess anyway.

Strong point only to be shot down by
(and I did read...) Berlin, and Longio Italy
videos,which are highly convincing.
I mean Highly, many more on the way to my doorstep.
I don't see his tenure as being proven
to the point of actually being a MARK but considering who he is and how well he pulled it off,I have to agree with it.

* Er, At? Just thought I'd let ya know I have my coffee served promptly at 5:15 am, and require a thorough washing + brushing each + every morning, and again in the evening after working up quite a sweat hauling that beer wagon around. Your other new duties as my personal assistant/gopher will be explained when representatives of MrEd, Inc. arrive to prepare you for shipment to my ranch. Pack a small bag that's hand transportable and be ready to depart at a moment's notice. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you mylord! I'm honored beyond my ability to express myself.
Would you like cream or sugar in your coffee?
