This is the first I've heard of that. If it's a sounboard job?then this proves my point, when a sounboard recording is week, then you know the show didn't go over very well. There is really only one essential boot from the BA tour, and that is of course Reading, due to the spot on performance, but I wouldn't bother with too many audience jobs, most of them have problems with the mics, due to getting bumped around, which makes the sound miss key screams, and that makes out as if the show wasn't as good as it actually was,the sounboard version is the one to get,the quality is so good that it actually should be an official live album. When an audience taper moves around,it makes the vocals sound distant and raspy. Well, I think I heard worse nights (I have several boots from the BA tour). And yes, it was released and sold officialy as King Bisquit show. I captures Gillans voice just before it kinda completely fails for a while ie when he had all the problems in reunion purple. Some of the Born Again tour bootlegs show how bad he was suffering but as you say the album is so raw and powerful with obviously lots of effort gone in on Ians part. nondisclosed_email@example.com (boogaloo)Wed, 14 Jul 2004 12:57:49 +0000 Sabbath Purple Sabbathhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p162672,from=rss#post162672https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p162672,from=rss#post162672I dunno if this has been discussed before (if it has please direct me to the thread and lock this) but what do you guys think of Gillian's brief spot as vocalist for Black Sabbath? I think Born Again is probably my favourite non-Ozzy Sabbath album - brilliant songs, terrible murky raw production and frankly truth be told the BEST Ian Gillian vocal performance I've ever heard - just Disturbing the Priest and the title track are evidence enough. I haven't heard Gillian's solo albums except for Dream catcher but I'd really like to know your thoughts on Born Again and whether you'd have liked Gillian to continue. I know for a fact that I would have. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Trollkien)Wed, 14 Jul 2004 12:35:55 +0000
