gillan live at wembley 1982.

i got this as my valentines pressie from mrs mc today.
its not been out of the cd player all day.
this really takes me back,to around the time when i first got into this music.
there are lots of forgotten gems on it.
whats the matter, bluesy blue sea, born to kill, hadley bop bop, dead of night and bite the bullet are among the highlights.
the quality of the recording is not great (what do you expect for something thats 22 years old!), like the second part of double trouble, but is a great bit of music history.
also the booklet with it has some great old photos and info in it.
this takes you back to the days, when a uk tour, meant a full uk tour.
when was the last time you saw the likes of preston, dundee, corby, ebbw vale and hull on a tour schedule.
if you loved gillan and saw the band live at this time, then get this and go back to a time when you cared less and was more worried about having a great time!

Cool, wouldn't mind hearing Bluesy Blue Sea live, one of my favourite Gillan tracks ever!

MIJ is 32 years old (almost).

Anyway I'm glad to hear somebody sayin good things about that recording.I remember reading on this forum that the performance was not that great and Ian Gillan's voice was quite...well I'm not gonna start again, I'm too afraid of GillanMcStand and Milan reaction.

p/t, dont get me wrong, this is patchy.
but it is like a trip back in time for me, when i saw this band, on the magic and double trouble tours.
i guess the best way to describe it is a fairly decent quality bootleg, that has been butchered to fit on a single cd.
all of the performances drift in and out of the mix.
personally i am glad i have it.
but as i said, if you want a decent quality memory of what gillan the band sounded like, then either go to the second half of double trouble, or the live at the bbc cd's.

I'm sure I'll get it eventually. As for the Double Trouble and the BBC concerts, I already got them...so...
There are so many Gillan releases, hard to get them all without hurting the bank account! emoticon
