"If You Belive Me" was the only song inluded on the live half of double trouble that had Bernie playing. It was recorded at the Rainbow, London at the 5th march 1981.
The rest was recorded at the Reading Festival at 29th of August by the time Gers had already joined the band so it´s him playing on all other tracks.

So it was Torme' on the live half of Double Trouble?????Hmmmmmm, either I missed that detail,or I just never cared to know

No, Torme's plays on one live track, the rest feature Gers. The difference in their sound is obvious.

Be aware that Gillan's voice was shot for most of the Magic tour and the Final Dec '82 show is a horrifyingly clear example of just how bad it was.

Well, perhaps not "most of the Magic tour". I went to 3 shows. The voice was fine at Newcastle on the 30th October and Bradford on the 19th November, but had deteriorated by Hull on the 22nd November.

Even back then, it was advisable to catch Gillan at the start of a tour emoticon.

....always Phil, but as I approach my 13th Purple concert,it will be very close to the end of the tour as opposed to the first show after a much needed break last February.
I'm hoping like the Reno show in 2002,that how far along they are will have no negative impact on his voice. emoticon
I have seen them plenty of times late in a tour,it hasn't hurt me yet.

Re: Gillan CD's

Just saw Purple here in Bonner Springs, Ks. The best show I've seen so far. Gillan's voice was f*&king amazing! The whole band was on fire. This was my 10th DP show and by far the best. Kansas City, front row, 1985? Cool. Kansas City 1987? Mmmm decent. Chicago, 1997, House of Blues? Ah......., nice. Omaha, 2001? Decent. St. Louis 2002? Great. Chicago, February 2004? Hah! An average gig. Bonner Springs 2004? Mind-blowing, impossibly good. Go see this band! I'm off to bed. Impossibly good. Seriously. "Made in Japan" good! I've been a fan for 34+ years. This was AWESOME!

Is the Wembley 1982 CD out allready? It's a vocal disaster equal only to Paris 1985, but a cool historic document. On The Rocks is awesome on the other hand while Live at BBC 79 may be just the best live record of all time!
