Ah once again, to clear this up....this was not "Lord's Dream" but a journalist's dream and he put the words in Jon's mouth...Jon never said this was his dream but it's gotten twisted that this is what he said.

Yeees, we all know this story by now (not Jon's dream) - still wish that it were though.

Re: Is it possible to track down Rod Evans ?
Those of you, brave minds, who try to do it, remember - Evans' first name was Roderick, not Rodney, as someone here suggested.
But what if somebody finds him? Will you give him a call, or send a personal letter: "Dear Rod, on behalf of all Deep Purple fans from all over the world, please go out from your hiding and tell us what it was like when you had been fired and what made you make such a stupid move with bogus DP in 1980"?

Maybe if the old management will cancel the "bounty" on Evans head, he will come out.

Well i like to read and listen to interviews from my favorite artists , i´m a big fan of rod and i would love to read a interview with him , his oppinions on music in general , about Deep Purple in particular, i´m not even interested in knowing more about the 1980 DP , we already know the whole story , or most of it , i would like to read a interview with him just like i enjoy reading intervirews about any artist i like, but since he´s "away" , it´s natural for one to be even more curious !

Everybody has his own perversions
On a more serious side, if I've read attentively, in last DTB it's said some audio from DP bogus 80 has survived .
I hope this will be release one day ...

Re: Is it possible to track down Rod Evans ?
I can't imagine him ever stepping forward. I read interviews with him, done just as the 1980 fiasco was about to start. I think he did it with nothing but good intentions, and was persuaded by $$. Who wouldn't be.
But I think they guy probably felt profound humiliation by the whole event and would just as soon leave it alone.

Re: Is it possible to track down Rod Evans ?
Having lived in America for ten years, maybe he thought they were too anctient and wouldn't even notice what he was doing with the name.
Ten years was a long time in music in those days,it's just a sliver these days,as far as musical eveloution goes.
