Nick sells the "Oh No No" acetate
Take a look at this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9992&item=4050552910&rd=1
At least thousand quid... Surely if I had money this big I would attempt at bidding... What is also interesting, if you have any questions, the proxy-seller may direct you to Nick as well!
I wonder if he also owns the "Glory Road" and "Lay Lady Lay" recordings, which were done during the DP '68 US Tour as well...

A thousand quid for half a single, he must be out of his mind, as any bidder would.

Actually I'm really surprised there are no bids on it. There are a lot of fanatical collectors out there.

The problem is it´s officially released on an anthology album. It´s not a _real_ gem.

But wouldn't people consider it like a first edition book? Collectors pay a lot of money for rare first editions, even though they may have been reprinted many times in cheap editions.

Re: Nick sells the "Oh No No" acetate
I have to agree, it is not a GEM anymore with the offical release. But to some collectors, having a "one of a kind" item is a GEM. I am sure if it was any kind of a Mark 2 rarity it would have been snatched up. But being Mark 1 there are very few collectors out there interested in the "early" part of the band. Or at least I would say "rich" collectors of the Mark.

I guess only very few Purple collectors has that kind of money to use for one song, they already have, with that line-up. It´s used, got a damaged cover. 7 years back I would have bought it. Back then i had too much trouble getting rid of my money. Now I´m a bid more critical.

Re: Nick sells the "Oh No No" acetate
If I had the cash, I would bid for it. Simple as that. This would mean the world to me. It is a gem of an item.
Perhaps I'm out of my mind. Just a shame I'm out of cash too!

Re: Nick sells the "Oh No No" acetate
If I had that kind of disposable cash, I could probably think of better things to spend the money on. But this would probably win out in the end and I'd live with the guilt, knowing that I had something that was truly unique. A couple of years ago, I was bidding on a Nazareth related item at a charity auction (it was a pre Naz Manny Charleton single and I didn't win), which ended up going for about £300 (I think). These things are worth whatever someone is willing to pay. If you get the right buyer at the right time, then throw in some serious competition; the sky's the limit.

Re: Nick sells the "Oh No No" acetate
I was surprised that no one picked up on this when it first came up about 3 or 4 weeks ago.But perhaps it is a bargain now as it was on at first for the price of £1500 and was then quickly reduced to £i400 but there were no bids. This was just after the time for asking questions to Nick had passed otherwise i would have put a question about it in the correct place.
