I never got that impression, but it definitly fits John, all I know is that it's one of John Lords all time best solos, and it's also got to be the greatest piece of keyboard work in a(heavy) pop rock hit,[sign in to see URL] none! emoticon

emoticon As i've mentioned on other threads but i'm more than happy to bore people shitless again-lol-my [sign in to see URL] DP was via 'Kentucky Woman' when it hit the airwaves here in Oz.'Book of Taliesyn' was one of the first lps i ever bought and 'KW' remains my second fave DP song of all time, just behind 'No One Came'.I remember playing 'Taliesyn' for the first time and being a bit thrown by the ending as the radio had only played the single version which faded.I played my DP singles lp the other day and found the fade version somewhat of an anti-climax!

Love and Mercy,John emoticon

Mark I - A very underrated period in DP's history. Though this era only lasted about 14 months, they put out three great albums. It showed a band still trying to find itself.

Prompted by a question from John, our MOAS founder, I had written:

It was Jon and Nick doing the harmonies.

Larry later wrote:

Check the back of the markI U.S. album covers to see what they say as far as who sang goes, you may be surprised.

Care to do a double-check on this?

Yes,but I'm not willing to cross the great Columbia in order to do it. emoticon
I'll take your word for it,I probably had Ritchie confused with Jon and Nick at the time, just recalling that most of them sang background, running one of my over the top estimates. emoticon
Man you like to pick things up where they left off,no matter how small the point nor how long ago it was made. emoticon
(I guess experts are good for that kind of stuff)

The Mark One Advocation Syndicate: Lives On!!!!

Some recent posts I've seen about Nick Simper, "Hey Joe", and people's favorite Mark I albums has made me realize that I must bring this thread back to the front from the back [sign in to see URL] at it!!!
