You've got that right. I'd elaborate a bit further and term it "predictably sad".

Re: Favorite Track On "Shades of Deep Purple"

Many great songs on this album.

HUSH, for putting DP on the map; HEY JOE, for its raw power and the use of Spanish Gypsie Scales in the organ intro.; and PRELUDE:HAPPINESS, for it's unique yet melodic structure.

What an album. This one album probably had the most profound effect on me psychologically, as any other life-altering event that I could think of. The visual images I can create with each of these songs is just so vivid, I couldn't even begin to describe it here. It would make no sense to you all. You'd all think I had lost my mind and had gone insane. That's why I keep it to myself, and learned to play the Hammond instead. I raise my eyebrows with curiosity as I search for the right chord, but I never speak once in the 4+ hours I sometimes play.

The experience is just far too sublime and much too personal for me.

Mandrake Root. Its one of the few Mk1 songs, I would love to hear if I was going to see DP tomorrow.

Re: Favorite Track On "Shades of Deep Purple"

Mr. Ed,

I took a closer look at your ballot from your poll, resurrected from last year:

You made a slight error:

"Prelude:Happiness" is the name of the instrumental, and "I'm So Glad" is the name of the vocal song that follows.

The voting has the tracks listed as "Prelude", and then "Happiness", as though those are two different songs...and no mention of "I'm So Glad".

I know nothing can be done to change the ballot, but I thought I should "for the record" point that out.
