Favorite Track On "Shades of Deep Purple"
What's the forum's consensus, album by album of each one's most and least favorite tracks? I'll include outtakes and non-album singles, too...

Toss up between And The Address or Mandrake Root. I chose Mandrake Root, so Rod didn't feel left out!

Hey Joe. Ritchies love for Hendrix shines through and Purple's version is really soulful

Only 20 voters out of 195 members...shameful, I say! Shameful!

MrEd,many members of this forum are a bit younger and maybe not well informed or interrested about Purples first hours.Even my collection starts with In Rock,'though Purples music came into my life in '78 with the age of 14.In that time I had a friend who had all the first releases but I have to admit that it just didn't do it to me.People should only vote if they are able to.

Re: Favorite Track On "Shades of Deep Purple"
That's fair enough, L'sS. I just can't believe that out of 170 or so people, there aren't at least 30 more who are familiar with MkI and should be voting, is all.
I do agree wholeheartedly that an uninformed vote can be in many ways more harmful than no vote at all.
Just to digress for a second, but there was a person interviewed about the upcoming "Recall Fiasco" here in California who was asked why they were going to vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor. Their answer: "Because he's the Terminator! He'll solve the State's problems!" That's a blithering idiot if I've ever heard one and a pretty good example of the dangers of an uninformed vote...

Re: Favorite Track On "Shades of Deep Purple"
I think Mr.Schwarzenegger knew his image will help even in politics.A somewhat predictable example.
