posticon Anthology produced in Ireland?

Hope I'm not reapeating any topic emoticon I ran a search but found nothing. To the moderators, I hope I got this in the right forum.

To my point. In about 1984 my brother gave me a 2 tape Anthology produced in Ireland. I have looked around the web but found no info. Is it possible these are Pirates? The quality is fine and not of the "cheap" type. I am familliar with the back alley types as my friend brought me some Floyd from Bali that was of poor quality.

I ask as I Have been very interested in finding a "backup" for the treasure case emoticon As well I am affraid that they will get eaten or dammaged in some other way as I still play them. emoticon
Any info in relation to this would be great!

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Are you speaking of the EMI/Harvest "Anthology", a double lp set of Deep Purple music that came out in early 1985? A compilation of material by Mks I, IIa,III + IV, about 20 or so tracks on it; a picture of Blackmore standing over a burning Strat on the cover?

The Republic Of Ireland were one of the pirates that took to water...

They put out many a pirate Deep Purple cassette, and I happen to cherrish every one that I have.

The double cassettes were the best.

Not sure what liscensing proceedures they have now,but I think it's all above water these days, atleast for the most part...

This is most certainly recorded off a record player, and if you listen closely enough, you'll hear the needle drop at the outset.
The Canadians are still getting away with this format (if you call it one) but they have recently been really cracking down on music piracy...so soon enough the Canadians will be out of the pirate loop.

I don't much mind these things,as it gives me yet another pressing to hold on to,once I obtain it of course. emoticon
