DP are miles ahead of what they ever were,in the rhythm department.
Excellent observation. I always felt the same - what sealed it for me was when I first heard the nasty crunching rhythm of Any Ful Kno That.

NO way...I love this vocal performance!

Re: Wowzeee!
So do I,but the chorus could've been more creative, and the lyrics too, although the vocal performance is loaded with character, probably because the story line is one of great character drive.
See for yourselves:

My wife said the same thing.

I love it just the way it is. Gillan sounds like a guy falling to his knees and crying, "you've got the wrong man!!!"

Re: Wowzeee!
Just not a fan of the simple chorus structure, and another thing about this fine song...riff sounds alot like Whitesnake to me,Ready An Willing to be exact.

Re: Wowzeee!
That's rock music for ya! Thank the gods that DP aren't the type of band that does this blues-type-chord-structure-variation- thing on every other song.

Re: Wowzeee!
I agree that the rythmn sections is much more perfect than i the mark 2 days but... I think Rock and Roll is better when it is a little sloppy. BTW, I love ROTD.

Re: Wowzeee!
The rhythm section doesn't have to be tight in order to be good, and these days it's actually looser than before, atleast to my ears...thats what makes it better,it's not wooden and predictible, like it used to tend to be,it's quite a breathtaking difference, but perhaps not enough to convince some to join the ride...
