I think Momentary Lapse Of Reason is one of the weakest Floyd albums. Still there's a lot of enjoyable tunes there, like Sorrow, title track and On The Turning Way.

And at something like 50 minutes, its hardly over-bloated.

The albums were a seperate issue, I just said that they were outstandingly average and basically Gilmour solo albums.

The "bloated" comment refers to the nature of the band, they weren't the dynamic and creative outfit they used to be, instead they were nothing but a concert attraction doing all the old hits like the Eagles. Two albums may not have been cashing in but all those 80,000 attendance laser shows to music were....

And I've never said anything about Gilmour's character, his actions seemed to be though. He was the one who dragged Pink Floyd up again and all signs point to money because it sure as hell wasn't about art.

There are not many aging bands who ignore their classic songs and concentrate on newer material. To single Gilmour out is not only harsh, its pretty unreasonable.

And you ask most people who saw Floyd live without Waters, and the majority will say that it was a wonderful experience.

That's what music is all about. You can argue until you are blue in the face what's right or wrong, but at the end of the day, the punters got what they paid for. A show of Floydian quality.

Your opinions on the two Water-less Floyd albums is merely subjective. But lay of this whole 'just for money' routine. Otherwise we may as well all have given up with the arrival of punk.

I'm not singling him out, he just happens to be the topic of discussion.

I'm not debating whether or not everyone had a lovely time. Everyone slags the Eagles off for doing what they do, what makes Pinks Floyd so special?. I merely think that Pink Floyd was resuscitated for rather dubious reasons and became something that betrayed what the original band was all about.

If it wasn't motivated by the potential revenue, then what was it for?.

Thats really sums up things as far as your
opinion is concerned RH.
Yor opinion is all it is and nothing more,
mine is experience based and you can't see it that way.
As far as my education goes, well I have only mentioned part of it here,I also have a BS in agriculture my friend.
It doesn't exactly apply to what I do though, graduates school is next on the horizon.
I tell you what America and our school system has to do with this,it's a little thing called freedom of choice, and nothing more, don't they teach you about it?
Rahul just may have nailed it on the head for you,but I'm sure you will find a way to disregard that as well, huh,oh,you already tried, what you consider to be average is just another inexperienced based opinion of
yours.
What was the song he sang again that put Floyd on the map? MONEY leave it to the expert to figure it out, okay ace???? emoticon
It's the same old story about how if you or I don't like something about something,we shoot off our mouths about it,well were talking about something you obviously know very little about, from the looks of things.
I'd like to end this with:
what part of:!!!!!(((((emoticon)))))!!!!! don't you understand????
Why take such an opinionated view to the ends of the earth anyway?
---------
I remember you once wrote that "Walk On"
was the most boring song you've heard in years, please tell us what happens when you are listening to 80% of Pink Floyds music?
I guess thats what you do when you want to define "real boring"! emoticon
Now remember R'sH,the smiley tells all...

Btw,what on earth is so bad about what it's going to take plenty of for you to finance
this thing called:the rest of your life!!??
I suggest making as much of it as possible Andy, what you do with it once you make it is whats really important. emoticon

I'm sure you have a lot of experience and bravo to you....but I'm afraid that it's universally requirement to explain the reasoning behind one's opinions to back them up, something that you've failed to do so far.

It might be pretty flexible but if it's producing people as ignorant as you then it's clearly not very good. emoticon

I'm sure I will, it's so nice to be involved in a discussion where the other protagonist actually states his case rather than throw up a cloud of solid waste from a male cow in lieu of doing so for change. emoticon

What I consider to be average is an interpretation of the material in question....an interpretation shared by the majority of the people who've heard it, including many people with more experience than you can shake a stick at. emoticon

You don't seem to know much about it either, all you've done is your usual boasting and posing. I don't think you've actually said anything about it other than "you're wrong and I'm right because I was there and you weren't so nyah!". emoticon

The bit before it where you make lots of snide comments that you expect to get away with. emoticon

I have an opinion, someone questions it, I defend it and so on...it's standard procedure y'know. emoticon

Until someone can tell me why it wasn't financially motivated then I'm staying put.

"Real boring" would be listening to you droning on about how many Latvian flexidiscs of obscure pop tunes that were recorded whilst Ritchie was sitting on a bench opposite the building eating a ham sandwich that were only pressed in single figures you have or how many trees you have on your lot and how many famous people your buddies have introduced you to. emoticon

But what about the copper mines and the humongous back catalogue revenue...I thought he didn't need money?. emoticon

I don't need to take advice from you, I know of people who are in a much better position to give it. emoticon
