Tommy Vance R.I.P

Sad news today that Tommy Vance has passed away aged 63.

I spent so much of my youth listening to Radio One's Friday Rock show and Tommy got me into so many Bands.

My thoughts are with his Family and Friends.

R.I.P Tommy.

That is indeed very sad news. If anyone was keeping the torch burning for the rock communities, It was Tommy Vance. His enthusiasm and the way he presented his programs were second to none in my opinion.
Thoughts go out to all his family and friends.
Bye Tommy.

I'll never forget Tommy's Friday Rock Show on BBC Radio. I listened to him through the 80s and remember that it was TV On The Radio, who broke the news of the DP reunion.
(well it was the first place I heard about it!).

Rock in peace Tommy.

Like others here, I listened to Tommy's show just about every Friday night in the 80s. He always came across as a "fan" (much like John Peel). The Friday Rock Show Sessions and the Reading/Donington broadcasts were excellent showcases - he must have helped many bands along the way.

Sad loss - that unique voice will be much missed.

Vance? Wasn't he the one with the deep, gravely voice who did voice-overs on adverts?

If so, he was a good DJ who played the right music to a lot of fans.
