One right here! Though I don't "hate" all the later stuff. I liked "Holy Water" with Brian Howe on the vocals. Most of it certainly didn't live up to BadCo.'s earlier work, though. But I think that can be said for a helluva lot of bands that made their "legend" during the late 60s to mid/late 70s...

my faves:
Can't get enough of your love, Bad Company (the song), Moving on, Shooting star, Running with the pack, Silver Blue and Gold, Rock'n Roll fantasy.
easy song structures, strong vocals, good bass lines, the right mixture of ballads and faster songs -that's what Bad Co. stood for imo. I don't know why but I like them better than Free, perhaps because Bad Co. were less bluesy.
all in all, I think their first album was their best effort. but I don't have any of the post-Rodgers albums. I know there is some 90s output. Does the band still exist in some way or other??

I thought they were average - a bit formulaic. The one time I bought a ticket to to a gig of theirs - with high expectations - it seemed a little bit like they were playing by numbers rather than having any real feeling.

Next time I saw them they were supporting DP...

The early stuff is good but I gotta praise albums like Holy Water as well, they were spot on for their era and still get the occasional outing here!

Yes,

I like the old stuff. "Seagull" is probably my favorite song of theirs.

I don't know much about Bad Company, but tell me how long Boz Burrell played bass in the band.
You may know that before BC he was in Snape and before that in King Crimson.
I read a great anecdote of him from the Crim-book I bought week ago. It says that Burrell hadn't played bass at all before KC, and when Fripp couldn't find a bassist for the band he said to Burrell (who was only vocalist at the time) that "Would you wanna learn to play bass?" and gave him two weeks time to practise before the first gig. He learned to play bass and they pulled it off somehow. I laughed my ass off when reading that. emoticon
