Re: Member Introduction
Hello, everyone!!! Sorry, but only after posting a few I'm seeing this place for introductions.
My name is Renato,(you can call me Jack, if it makes you happy! ) and I'm a 28 year Brazilian fan. My first contact with Purple's music happened in 1994, when, at that time, my uncle gave me a big pile of old vinyl records, as a gift. Among other furious bands (Sab, ELP, Rainbow, Foghat...) I had in my hands of rogue, Purple's gems like In Rock, Machine Head, WDWTWA, Burn, MIE, MIJ) and, as I described in another topic, Lord's intro of YFNO from MIE brought me to an epiphany and, since then, my blood turned to Purple, and my soul to praise the Lord (Leicester's one).
I've been to 4 gigs here in Brazil (97,99,03 and 05).
I like Purple's sound the same as I like to breath, in the other hand, I didn't like most of the songs from Rapture of the Deep.
I'm married and have a two month boy baby.
I'm very glad to be among people from all over the world, chatting about my favourite band.
--- Let there be ahoy.

Re: Member Introduction
Hi
Everyone calls me Mick for some reason. I have been a purple fan since the mid-seventies (musical awakening just after Balckmore left). The first Purple gig I went to was the reunion in '84 at Knebworth and have tried to see them ever since. I play lead guitar in a band called the "Pot Bellied Chimps" and we play mostly in drinking houses in Southern England. We try not to be a covers band and generally jam to a theme.

Hi,
I'm Karin and some of you have met me on amdp.
I usually snoop a lot and post selldom. but anyway, now I'm here.
Purple fan since (oh I'm old) 71-72. Usually see them at least once every tour since -85. Travelled to London for the RAH, so I guess I'm a bit nuts anyway.

Re: Member Introduction
hi there good people, my name is Klaus and I first listend to deep purple in the seventies from a record lent to me by a friend. Fireball's intro and Jon Lord's amazing organ fireworks impressed me most and got me interested to do more research on the band. And so this marvelous opportunity to communicate with you and many other who's insight and expereince with deep purple is a passage I know that will liken to be rapture of the deep.
Cheers,
Klaus

Re: Member Introduction
Cheerio !! First of all let me say i´m lousy with computers. I´m of the old school (pushing 40) but i hope this message turns up on the board. I just wanna say thanks to all of you out there! I´ve been reading this forum for ages it seems and i´ve got so many good tips, reviews, links and so forth. You´re doing a great job, i´m sure there has been a lot of people who have silently taken part in this forum and found it very useful. At least i have ! Well i like all kinds of music, there´s two only kinds (as Miles Davis said) good & bad. And for most of the time the purple family & spin offs definitely qualify in the first category. Well i´m not a big poster but if i find something that might be interesting to someone i´ll post it. Well i could sit here forever & write..but i think a song says more than a thousand words, so i couldn´t find a better suitable moment than this one to join the forum because our band recorded smoke on the water for the gillan´s inn competition.Yeah..all of you know, they changed the rules, and i´m a heathen from the north (sweden) so our contribution were not to be heard (but now it is)...But i´ll try to make a new post about it. Keep up the good work everyone !
Cheers- Salle
