Re: Member Introduction
I suppose I'm nearly new! I've made a few postings but only joined this month - I actually only joined 16th September, so thats only 9 days since then until this posting.
Got into Purple: 1973 - musically, I wish I'd been born 4 years earlier!
Favourite album (DP): now let me think...
Favourite albums (generally): see Polls/Lists board - Top 20 thread.
How I got into Purple:
heard a guy playing a cassette recorder on a bus - asked him "Excuse me, what is the song called?" He answered "Smoke On The Water" - I went to a record shop immediately and looked for the album with that song on it...
My personal profile bits and bobs tells some more useless information - e.g. my liking for Speedway - a sport dominated for years by Scandanavians. I've lost count of the number of times a Dane or a Swede has been World Champion - currently its a Swede. And Scandanavians of course also have a liking for Deep Purple!
Cheers,
MH1

Re: Member Introduction
Hi, I'm Charlie. I registered here some time ago in order to contact Rahul by email about the Dynamite single (hi again Rahul). I visit here occasionally to see the latest chat etc, but I've resisted posting up to now since, like an atomic toy, once started I fear I might never stop...
Anyway I thought I'd pop in here and say 'hello' or 'YEEEEEEEEAAAOOOWWW'. I've been a DP fan since early 70's when a pal played MIJ on cassette in a Ford Anglia. First saw them at the Knebworth reunion gig, then lost touch until the internet era and went to the RAH '99 concerto gig. Best concert experience ever. Then seen them again at more or less every UK opportunity since. Also seen Nick Simper play quite a bit recently, & looking forward to Blackmore's Night in November.
Cheers

Welcome on board!
Have a look around. "If you like what we do, tell others. If you don't, tell us!"
That used to be the sign in the window of my old fish & chip shop...sigh!

Of angriness and greed,
Of dominance and persecution.

There's a helluva joke in there somewhere as a retort but I don't wanna upset folk... again!!! I just about got away with the "can you sing it (lyrics), record it and give us a web link"

Re: Member Introduction
I'm Robert from Down Under, in the EU for work right now!!! I'm new here, but ABSOLUTELY NOT to the good vibes of Deep Purple!!! I've been a fan since day one back in OZ as a slimy teeny bopper!!!!! My 1st DP album was "Burn", then came all the rest...I have all of 'em except "Bananas"!!!
Glad to be here among DP lovers!!!
