John Mayall : "I'm amazed. But Eric is always doing something unexpected. He moves in so many directions, always out front with his music."

Hardly an accurate description of Clapton IMO!

The only one that's done anything of interest lately is Jack Bruce.

I agree. The only time I remember being surprised by EC was when I bought the live album 24 Nights back in the early 90s. Smoking guitar work (and I do like EC's playing in general)!

Maybe it's just me, but I certainly wasn't expecting a Cream reunion! emoticon

Does that mean Mayall expected the unexpected Cream Reunion?

Hey, maybe a Blind Faith reunion will follow? emoticon

Nice thought, but you'll need a new bass player!

This scenario is typical of Clapton in that he'll keep you hanging on then cut loose for no good reason.

By nature he's a creature of the air, not exactly a feather in the wind but, like I say, when the need takes him, he'll run like the [sign in to see URL] usually in the opposite direction.

That said, after the Rock Hall Of Fame induction, all former Cream members expressed an interest in [sign in to see URL] it happens

Anyone for nostalgia more like it.

I'd rather see them go into the studio, put some new material together and see if they still have it as a working band. Then go on a world tour.
This obviously isn't a long term commitment but I would pay to see it. I wonder if EC is gonna break out the psychadelic SG.

In my book, the term 'Working Band' means you're on the road, so yes, a tour would be good.

Referring again to the 'Farewell Cream' video from 1993 - Clapton expressed the opinion then that the sensible thing would be to go into the studio.

However, the fans will want the old sets, in the raw, just the three of them, like the old days with no back up guitarists or drummers, just Clapton, Bruce and [sign in to see URL], I'm filling up already emoticon
They've GOT to do this.
