Re: Slaves and Masters leftovers
...by the way - my friend spoke with Mr. Bruce Payne in New York last year. Turned out that payne owns the un-released TBRO and all the Rainbow tapes from 1975-1997...but unfortunately he doesn't see any business in releasing that stuff...posticon
I'll pretty much guarantee that Bruce does not own any of the Doogie White fronted Rainbow. The other stuff I believe, but if in fact Blackmore doesn't have any say, that is a shame.
To me the JLT TBRO stuff would sell reasonably well and I can imagine the current band (DP) doesn't particularly want it released, but all this is just my opinion.
Cheers,
Frank

Re: Slaves and Masters leftovers
I take it the songs Doug mentioned are all nothing but backing tracks to the songs that made the record, but with different titles and vocals?????
If not, than we have some drama and than some to chew on...I know, maybe he lent a tape to a girlfriend that could wind up auctioning it @ebay.
(ala the Born Again unmixed demos)

Re: Slaves and Masters leftovers
Finally there are planned releases of 1975 Rainbow shows. Mr Payne changed his mind so we should wait until 2015 2020 (25th or 30th anniversary) to listen to TBRO JLT demos .

Oh, so we'll pre-order it for our grandchildren, and write it on our will

Right!
Seriously, the market remains as long the fans are alive...

Re: Slaves and Masters leftovers
well i can't understand their attitude... here we are, ready to buy everything they put on market even if they're not new recorded material. which means they won't have a lot of production spending. just a bit of mixing and mastering that's all. the only idea against it could be that they don't want us to listen to the old stuff and support the new things. could it be so?

That must be it.
And when the current DP folds up, probably around 2015, the fans have hearing aids and are watching soap operas rather than listening to rock music.
