Wiping the slate clean
Ever wish that people would judge Joe (and Glenn to a lesser extent) on what they're doing now rather than supposed sins committed umpteen years ago?

Re: Wiping the slate clean
Okay, obviously there are people who don´t like his input to Rainbow, and that´s okay. People hate S&M and that´s a bit too much for my taste. But, you´re right most people only judge him by four albums and that´s not fair. His brilliant on the HTP records and from what I´ve heard of his latest outputs(Slam,JLT) he´s indeed able to put brilliant Hardrock Records together.

Re: Wiping the slate clean
Oh, and judging Glenn only by Strombringer and the MK3,MK4 live recordings is just poor, I´m sorry!

Re: Wiping the slate clean
Glenn and Joe are about the busiest members out there.
I liked Turner in Rainbow, but lost interest after the Purple reunion. And it's Blackmore and Purples fault for making the fiasco of S&M. Great Rainbow it is, Purple it isnt.
Glenn Rules! Listening to 'Addiction' right now
--- tastes great, less filling

Addiction's a superb album - hard and heavy, then sensitive, and a great showcase for Glenn to exorcise the ghosts of his past.

Re: Wiping the slate clean
Yeah, I agree. Hughes is an incredible live performer, and it's hard to put down in words how good he is these days. But some people seem content to rate him on three albums he recorded nearly 30 years ago. It's a shame because you miss out on some brilliant music and one of the great vocal performances you will ever see live.
JLT has sounded great on some of the later recordings I have heard. I still don't see him as an essential artist in my list of 'must have', but his work with Mother's Army and HTP is excellent.
Even Tommy Bolin could fall into this category though a bit back to front. His best work was undoubtedly before he joined Deep Purple, and his ability shouldn't be judged on his year in Deep Purple. When people say he couldn't play live or improvise, they ain't never heard Zephyr: Live at Arts Bart and Grill.

Arts Bart and Grill?? Not the legendary Siberian mongoose juggling trio by any chance?

Re: Wiping the slate clean
One of Glenn's better trait's is that
he is a very nice person and not a !@#$
like he has been discribed in the past.
Might have something to do with
kicking the spirit's into a different gear.
