Still seeking evidence of Howe even being approached by the band,I'll believe it when I see it.

I didn't think much of Brian Howe when he was with Bad Co. They opened for the Purps here in Toledo and while his voice was OK, everything else about him didn't impress me.

Either way, I din't think that he fit in Bad Co. and he sure wouldn't have fit in Purple, IMO.

Allegedly, Howe was approached by Blackmore and asked if he'd like the gig.
Ask Blackmore about it the next time you get together for a soccer match with him. emoticon

Never played soccer with Ritchie, that would be English Rob,still not proof MrEd,aren't you indulging in a little of what you have advised me not to do here???
I think it would be better to provide some evidence of exactly where you heard the allegation, this would be satisfying,
like maybe what mag you read it in or just exactly how you came about such an allegation.
I seem to remember reading it somewhere myself, but I remember it being on a list of
"possible candidates" and nothing more about it was written.
This holds no mud for me in the way of being approached, there were many singers around at the time that may have been considered but that doesn't mean they were formally approached or auditioned,
Roger Glover did say in an interview that they auditioned
countless singers, most of them beiing either from bands that had recently broken up or singers that were unknown to the general public. emoticon

BRIAN HOWE is an excellent rock vocalist, he is much better than JLT.

I dig many of his works with BAD COMPANY.

I must've confused all the celebrity meet ups then, MicStand! emoticon Anyway, it was written about fairly extensively back in the late 80s in varios rock publications, and Blackmore himself acknowledged the discussion... it's covered in the excellent "Rainbow Rising" by Roy Davies, too.

Explain no further MrEd,you keep reminding me that I need to order this book,I know Blackmore likes Howe,he may have even been looking at him while they were on tour together in 87.
(he didn't compare to Gillan in Irvine though, but not many singers do)
He would have been better than JLT any day,he sure filled a needed void in Bad CO.
I trust that Roy's book is a fine source and written with major integrity. emoticon
thanks

Just came across the reference - "foosball", not "football" - my bad! emoticon
