Re: Teaser vs. Private Eyes
"Snapshot" is the name of a LOVELY Bolin album that precedes Glover's disc by a few years. It is a posthumous compilation of unreleased outtakes and demos from Tommy Bolin, and it has a significant amount of acoustic demos, which I love. They showcase Tommy's voice, and the acoustic format is one that Bolin did not use on his recordings during his lifetime, sadly 'nuff.
Tommy Bolin is like Pete Townshend in that he recorded these demos that are as fascinating as the finalized versions!!
As for the "Teaser" vs "Private Eyes" debate, I'll take "Teaser." It rocks harder and has more variety and it has two GREAT instrumentals. It is a perfect album IMO, one of those discs with NO weak spots or songs I would skip. "Private Eyes" is great too, it just comes in second. Jim S

Agree 100%. Teaser has better production too IMO.

Re: Teaser vs. Private Eyes
Too bad the master tapes can't be located so we could really hear the production quality.

I thought it was the other way round. Or maybe my copy of Teaser is a bad one.
PE (vinyl) sounds great to my ears, but T (vinyl/CD) has a weak production. Especially the song "Dreamer" has a very weak sound, even thoug the song is one of my favourites.
In terms of musical quality, I can't really say which I think would be better. I play both very often.

Re: Teaser vs. Private Eyes
For me it's almost impossible to choose. Both of them are masterpieces.
Today I choose Private Eyes but tomorrow...

Re: Teaser vs. Private Eyes
Well I've just gotten Private Eyes today and it's my only taste of Bolin outside of DP. I love it! I'm going to get Teaser very very soon so I can compare them. But Private Eyes sounds fantastic!
