Dortmund 06/11/03

Hello everyone!
Yesterday I was in Dortmund - happy. Now I am at home - deaf and still happy. DP did a great show. They started at 9.30 pm and ended at 11.15 pm.
This is the setlist:

Highway Star
Strange Kind Of Woman
Silver Tongue
Knocking At Your Back Door
House Of Pain
Lazy
Bananas
Contact Lost
Haunted
Space Truckin'
I Got Your Number
Morse Solo
The Well Dressed Guitar
Airey Solo
Perfect Strangers
Smoke On The Water
Hush (encore)
Black Night (encore)

They played all very well and you could say that Don Airey was the little star of the evening. He was accepted by everyone in the Westfalenhalle (which was not sold out). He did a great job and played with a lot of inspiration. Gillan's voice was very fine. Paice pushed the band to the limit. Roger jumped on the stage like a 20 years old guy. And Steve played (like always) very fast, very exactly and with a lot of fun. So there is only one thing left to say: I thaaaaaaaaaaank yyyoooooooouuuuuu!!! emoticon

Sounds good, but I still can't understand why they don't do neither Sun Goes Down or Doing It Tonight. emoticon

That looks good, add SIFLS andit would be the freshest setlist they've done in ages.

Hi,
the Dortmund show was fun. Fortunately someone has already written the setlist and given a review. It's for the musicians in the fan scene to review music. I just listen. A show with everything. Great music, oldies?, improvisations made them new, fresh Bananas, autumn bananas different from summer bananas in Berlin. With highlights for everybody, headbangers, dancers, airguitar players, many in the audience knew the lyrics and were singing. Everybody seemed in good mood. I got a beer shower on my head, later someone asked "what perfume is this?". Every now and then something comedian, three singing, Roger Glover, Steve Morse and Ian Gillan, but only two microphones, Ian in the middle, using both. Performance of team spirit. Sound of silence: contact lost, anounced by Ian Gillan in words and translated nonverbal. And again Hush, in the encores, memories, when I noticed Deep Purple first time. Meeting with other fans, talk about grandchildren. A wonderful evening. ciao
